BIO

Salla Yli-Luopa is a Helsinki-based makeup designer and prosthetic makeup artist with more than 20 years of industry experience. She started her working career as a hair stylist in London in the early 2000. After makeup studies she moved on to film work in 2004, the greatest interest always being on genre film and special effects makeup.

She has studied prosthetic makeup and mould making on several courses held by industry top talents (i.e., Kazuhiro Tsuji, Neill Gorton, Rob Freitas) and worked on many international film productions around the world.

Her all-time favourite movies are the likes of Evil Dead, Drive and Faster Pussycat Kill Kill. She is also known by a nickname The Mistress of Blood.
